Aonang, Krabi, Thailand ( 10 - 15 Dec 2006 )
Jhan and I were back in Aonang, Krabi again after our first trip in June. We're basically back for their wonderful food, the fabulous shopping, the friendly people and the laid-back relaxed atmosphere.
10 Dec
We arrived at Krabi Airport in the morning and grabbed a taxi to Aonang Beach for 600 Baht. We had a little problem with the hotel reservations and spent the first two nights at a budget hotel, Aonang Beach Resort. For 2000 Baht a night without breakfast, it was a room just right for us who wanted to be out in the sun the whole day and sightsee. It's situated right at the beach front so that was great too. We didn't take any pictures at Aonang Beach Resort as we only went back to the room to shower and sleep.
We had lunch on a beach mat at the roadside. Unfortunately, we forget to take photos of that great moment because we were just too excited and hungry. We decided that the lady was our favourite food peddler.
For dinner, we took the bus down to Krabi Town's Night Market. Again, too excited and hungry to take photos. We brought back durians to eat at Aonang Beach. Fabulous!!
11 Dec
Brunch at a little cafeteria. Toast, scrambled eggs, yogurt, muesli, fruits, and cornflakes.

We had a haircut at WOW Professional Hair Design right opposite Phranang Place. The guy was fabulous and cut our hair exactly how we wanted it to be done. Surprisingly so because even hairstylist in Singapore don't really do a good job at times. It was cheap too! 500 Baht for two which comes up to about S$11 each.

For dinner, we went back to Krabi Town. It's our second time eating at one of the stalls at the Night Market. Just looking at the wide array of food and fruits are enough to make us drool.

12 Dec
Brunch at a roadside stall again before we checked-out from Aonang Beach Resort.

We checked-in at Aonang Princeville Resort. I love that place! Just look at the beautifully decorated room! The bathroom opens up to the bedroom!! We had a good view from our balcony too!

Dinner was at Aonang Seafood Restaurant.

Oh! We're HUGE fans of the Krabi's banana pancakes with condensed milk!! We have it for dessert after lunch, dinner and supper. Really sinful food!!!

13 Dec
Breakfast at Aonang Princeville Resort. The breakfast menu isn't something to scream about but what they lacked in food, they had made up for it in the room.

We had dinner at this open space with 10 stalls and loads of tables and chairs. Fantastic hot steamy food. I had chicken noodle soup while Jhan had chicken hor fun AND chicken rice.

14 Dec
Breakfast at the resort again. My tummy didn't feel so good after so much good food and drinking the past few days.

Jhan went out and bought food from our favourite food peddler to eat in our room.
We went back to the open space for dinner. We tried coconut shake at many places but this place serves the best coconut shake so far.

15 Dec
Our last day in Aonang, Krabi. We had a walk after breakfast and our second favourite food peddler actually looked for us at our usual spot. That's how sweet the Thais are.

We went back to see our hairstylist to say goodbye and get our hair spruced up.

These kids are students out on a school tour. Have a look at the boys' belt!!

Our gifts to each other, friends and family members.

All in all, it was a fantastic trip. Whatever we couldn't do in June, we did them this time. And we're positive this won't be the last time we'll be in Aonang, Krabi!
