After a fabulous 30th birthday bash at Hyatt Hotel last year, I didn’t want to do anything special this year. I didn’t want to ruin the terrific memories in the junior suite. That was my plan.
My birthday surprise came as early as 26 November when Garf texted me to say she wanted to meet me. She came over to my place at 12.00 in the morning to present a bouquet of red roses with wonderful Ferrero Roche chocolates in the middle. It was a pleasant surprise and it was so sweet of her to remember my birthday at the end of the week. Then, we sat over cups of Milo, Bandung, Teh-O and Joy Juice planning our next rendezvous.
On the morning of 30 November, I felt something was amiss. I let it go although I suspected something fishy. A beautiful Cheesecake from Hilton Hotel arrived with her at 1pm. Lunch was an assortment of pizzas and fried chicken from Pizza Hut and KFC with the family. It was all arranged by her.

Dinner was at Au Petit Salut, a French restaurant at 40C Harding Road. It is nestled in a lush green surrounding and the restaurant had a calm and idyllic ambience for alfresco dining.

A fantastic romantic evening with a loved one. What better way to end the perfect evening. See http://www.aupetitsalut.com/
On 1 December, we caught 30 Days of Night with Garf at Picturehouse before driving down to Rumah Makanan Laut Orang Asli in Johor Bahru for dinner. We had Cereal Prawns, Crabs, Mantou Buns, Kangkong Belacan, Baby Spinach, and Fried Seafood Tofu.
The night ended with me holding a big framed up puzzle of clusters of houses on stilts over the water. It was a beautiful gift. I was so touched that a friend can think of my birthday gift from April and pieced together the 1000 pieces of puzzle for months just for ME! That’s so unbelievable!

I love it! I’ve hung it up my wall at the side of my bed and it really livens up my green wall and my room. Thanks Garf! I can’t repay you for how you’ve made me feel. It’s an incredible feeling and I owe it all to you.
Thanks too to Haiezian, Sabrina and Natasha for remembering. Those texts from you made my day because I didn't expect them at all.

On Hari Raya Haji eve, which was the day I was born 31 years ago, Mumy bought me another cake which was a great surprise to me.
